We’re excited to announce that Mikael Ek, one of the most prominent figures in the Swedish and Nordic telecom landscape, will be speaking at PacketFront Connected 2025!
As CEO of the Swedish Local Fibre Alliance, a non-profit organisation representing over 300 broadband actors, most of them being municipal networks, Mikael plays a central role in shaping Sweden’s digital infrastructure. These networks are responsible for nearly 60% of the country’s fibre deployment, contributing to Sweden’s status as one of the top-ranked fibre nations in the world.

In his presentation, “More efficiency and higher quality through cooperation between city carriers,” Mikael will share practical insights on how collaboration among regional fibre players can accelerate deployment, cut costs, and raise service quality across Europe.
With a career that began in 1985 and leadership experience at Eltel Networks, TeliaSonera, and Tele2, Mikael brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial, commercial, and strategic expertise. He also holds influential roles within the Swedish Government’s Broadband Committee, the European Local Fibre Alliance (ELFA), and CEDEC.
