PacketFront Software Solutions and Metroverse support a nationwide FTTH network roll-out in Malaysia

Jalur Lebar Nasional Sdn Bhd (Jalenas) has chosen BECS network provisioning and BBE business process automation systems from PacketFront Software Solutions to support their nationwide network roll-out. The implementation is to be done together with local partner Metroverse Sdn Bhd.

Jalenas was formed in 2007 specifically to design, build, own and operate fixed-line High Speed Broadband networks running on 100% fibre-optic cable offering bandwidth capacities up to 100 Mbps. The expectation is that bandwidth requirements will soon increase to 1000 Mbps (1Gbps).

Jalenas is backed by the Pahang state government and is the only nationwide scale provider of open access in Malaysia today. Their target is to connect 2.5 million homes and offices by 2016.

Jalenas has already started the deployment in the city of Kuantan and is now aiming to connect Johor Bahru by end of 2012.

“We are delighted to support the Jalenas effort in building Malaysia’s first open access network. The network build-out plan is impressive and we are proud to participate in this project” says Ulf Avrin, CEO PacketFront Software Solutions AB.

“Selection of PacketFront Software Solutions and Metroverse as our partners was a crucial cornerstone in our plan. By help of the technology and expertise they provide us, we are confident that we can create a network environment that will keep our cost structure down due to high level of automation. At the same time, we can create and support new innovative end-customer services in a complex matrix with multiple service providers and services”, says Heikal M. Ali, Executive Director of Jalenas.
