These latest versions take Network Automation to the next level, enhancing efficiency and security. They’re designed to further improve your network management and support your journey towards UK TSA and EU NIS2 compliance, keeping you ahead in the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape.
📌Note:
- Linux distribution support
Effective from these versions, we will no longer support RHEL 7 and compatible Linux distributions. Our support will now focus solely on RHEL 9 and compatible Linux distributions.
BECS (OSS) 3.27
IPAM functionality
Easing network reconfiguration
Make fundamental changes to DHCP scopes without affecting end customer experience
Graceful DHCP pool emptying improves BECS Network Automation
With this release, you can make fundamental changes to DHCP scopes without affecting end customer experience and BECS now allows you to make changes to DHCP pools with greater control.
Technical Enhancements Overview
The new implementation enables BECS to wait for a scope to empty before removing resources, based on your configured settings. For example, if you have a scope of 10.0.0.0/24 and want to split it, you can configure addresses in the range 10.0.0.128-255 to gracefully vacate, moving clients to other available addresses. Once the range is cleared, you can split the resource without disrupting services.
What’s in it for You
With this BECS update, your engineering team can confidently plan changes, knowing they won’t disrupt end users. By allowing for graceful reallocation of resources, changes can be made seamlessly without impacting services. Management and service teams can rest assured that customers won’t face unnecessary downtime, ensuring a smoother experience for everyone.
This feature is included in the product kit and you will have access to it after the upgrade.
Hide sensitive data from logs
Enhancement for UK TSA and EU NIS2 Cybersecurity Compliance
Enhanced Security Controls
In this release, as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing security, we’ve introduced a powerful new feature that allows sensitive data to be hidden from logs.
This feature is fully customisable, giving you complete control over what your business defines as sensitive and ensuring that information remains secure. Whether it’s confidential business data or meeting regulatory compliance requirements, you can now manage what stays out of the logs. These enhancements further strengthen BECS’ security, supporting your journey towards UK TSA and EU NIS2 compliance, helping you protect sensitive information while maintaining the highest cybersecurity standards.
Technical Enhancements Overview
Using the EM command, you can replace any sensitive information—or any data matched with the regex value. This command can be applied multiple times, ensuring that all your requirements for data protection are fully covered.
What’s in it for You
You’ll have full control over sensitive information, ensuring it’s safely screened from logs, giving your security team peace of mind. Management can rest assured that data is securely handled in line with company policy, keeping everything compliant and protected.
This feature is included in the product kit and you will have access to it after the upgrade.
BBE (BSS) 2.14
Capture the Reason for Subscription Termination
You can now gain valuable insights into your service provisioning by capturing the reasons behind subscription terminations. A new dialogue window, available during the deactivation process (if enabled), allows you to gather this important information, helping you better understand and manage the customer journey.
Editing of Service Bundles
In response to customer requests, we’ve added the ability to edit service bundles even when they are actively subscribed. This is particularly useful for adding scripts or messages at a later stage, when optimising products to match evolving processes. To maintain data integrity, only services of type MESSAGE and SCRIPT can be mapped.
These functions are included in the product and you will have access to them after upgrading.
