Affärsverken, a utility company in southern Sweden operating several City networks, is now expanding the use of their BECS Network Management System to include even ADSL customers.
Affärsverken recently acquired Karlskrona Nät, an ADSL network with 2500 connections. Affärsverken has incorporated Karlskrona Nät in the existing PacketFront Software’s BECS system creating a homogenous management of both FTTH and ADSL networks. All customers in Karlskrona Nät go into the same system that manages multi-play services in the fiber-based City network.
PacketFront Solutions, a partner to PacketFront Software, delivers an aggregated solution, which gives essentially the same range of services in the ADSL network as in the fiber network. For end customers in Karlskrona Nät it means a considerably wider range of services and for Affärsverken a consolidated and robust network.
“Our customer is satisfied with the reliability in the network and the expanded range of services. This is an excellent way to increase service level and extend the life of an ADSL network” says Johan Bergman, CEO of PacketFront Solutions.
To consolidate City networks is a conscious strategy of Affärsverken, providing many synergies, such as economy of scale.
